KERN COUNTY NURSE HONOR GUARD

KERN COUNTY NURSE HONOR GUARD

The Kern County Nurse Honor Guard is a local Chapter of the National Nurses Honor Guard Coalition. We provide services to pay tribute to Nurses at the end of their life’s journey in the greater Kern County area.

What is the Nurse honor guard?

Kern County Nurse Honor Guard is part of a National Nurses Honor Guard Coalition founded to honor the lives and service of nurses across the United States, reflecting the values of camaraderie, respect, and gratitude within the nursing community at the end of life’s journey. The Kern County Nurse Honor Guard Chapter was founded in 2023 and has been active in the community since January 2024.

Explore what we offer

Memorial Nightingale Tributes – This is a special ceremonial tribute about five minutes long performed at funeral services, memorial services, celebrations of life, or graveside.

Living tributes – Similar to the Nightingale Tribute, this is an opportunity to honor the nurse at the end of life before their passing provided in the home or where the nurse is currently residing in an intimate setting.

Honor Walk – We will join the honor walk when the beloved nurse will be donating their organs.  We can provide a special prayer and final release of duty.

We can also join in community events (parades, ceremonies, etc.), nurse sponsored events, educational events, and more.

Become a volunteer

The Nurse Honor guard consists of active and retired nurses who volunteer their time to honor the professional community of nursing. We desire nurses from all fields of nursing to join this movement so that every nurse receives the honor they deserve for their dedication and service at the end of their life journey.
